Tax Supervisor - Real Estate
About the role
We are seeking a Tax Supervisor for our Real Estate Tax group. You will provide detail review and analysis of tax returns, work on multiple complex issues, communicate in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team, manage the risk for both the client and the firm, interact directly with clients, handle questions, plan, and address concerns, develop, motivate, and train staff level team members, and remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
Responsibilities
- Provide detail review and analysis of tax returns
- Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team
- Manage the risk for both the client and the firm
- Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.
- Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members
- Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree preferably in Accounting or related field of study
- One of the following is preferred: active CPA license in the state of residence or primary office; active Enrolled Agent (EA) license; active attorney license; or a pre-approved alternative certification that meets RSM requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a public accounting environment
- Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications for real estate industry clients
- Experience preparing and reviewing returns
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: BA/BS Degree preferably in Accounting or related field of study, minimum of 4 years of experience in a public accounting environment, ability to work closely with clients, comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications for real estate industry clients, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred Qualifications: Masters of Accounting, experience with a national or large regional accounting firm, experience in dealing with international tax matters, experience in a similar role to the one for which you are applying

Pay
Compensation Range: $82,400 - $155,700
Schedule
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
