Responsibilities
- Interact with clients to provide advanced tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.
- Prepare complex tax returns and review returns prepared by Tax Associates and Tax Seniors.
- Oversee and supervise all tax reporting and compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws.
- Analyze and review financial data to identify tax savings and minimization opportunities.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations, staying current with changes and developments.
- Provide guidance and support to tax staff and assist in their professional development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, clients, and industry professionals.
- Actively participate in professional organizations, industry events, and networking groups to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the tax team, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Participate in relevant training programs, seminars, and workshops to enhance tax knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in the New York City office a minimum of three days per week, with Monday and Wednesday required in-office days for team meetings, training, and mentoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required. MST degree a plus.
- Active CPA license, EA certification, or progress toward certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive financial services tax experience required. Experience working with asset management clients, such as hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, management companies, and high-net-worth individuals, is essential.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor the tax team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with tax software (e.g., CCH Tax, Engagement, or similar) preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $95,000 - $115,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location, and individual's qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. PKFOD offers:
