Qualifications
- 5+ years demonstrated expertise in Tax, Tax Accountant responsibilities, and Tax Compliance.
- Experience with fiduciary tax returns.
- Experience preparing estate tax returns, gift tax returns, estate and trust income tax returns, charitable trusts, PA inheritance tax.
- Experience at an Estates and Trust law firm or the wealth management arm of a Big 8 / CPA firm.
- Experience with ProSystems software is a plus.
- Active CPA license or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Masters degree or advanced tax coursework preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and/or trusts as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations and internal policies; monitor filing deadlines and coordinate timely submissions.
- Research and interpret tax laws, rulings and guidance to resolve complex tax issues and support position papers.
- Maintain organized tax workpapers, supporting documentation and audit-ready files for all returns and tax positions.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and assist with financial statement disclosures related to income taxes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather tax-related data, implement process improvements and streamline tax workflows.
- Aid in tax planning projects, identifying credits, deductions and opportunities to legally minimize tax liability.
- Mentor and review the work of junior tax staff, providing feedback and training to strengthen team capabilities.
