About the role
The Tax Senior Accountant role is part of the internal US Firms Tax ("USFT") team within Deloitte Services LP. The USFT team is responsible for setting tax policy for Deloitte US Firms in the US and other countries, as well as for all domestic and foreign compliance.
Responsibilities
- Produce and distribute annual partner Forms K-1 packages, including allocations of income, deductions, and separately stated items to US Firms partners.
- Prepare allocations of items for 199A, 163(j), and Form K-3 reporting.
- Aid in the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns, including composite nonresident income tax returns, withholding tax returns, and certain partner-related information.
- Collaborate on federal withholding information returns.
- Manage and track tax capital for the partners.
- Supervise and manage tax consultants on assigned engagements.
- Manage the annual partner state tax elections process and collect nonresident non-joiner affidavits, review per partner withholding, PET, and composite tax calculations.
- Assist with partner inquiries regarding federal or state or local tax matters related to their K-1 information and withholdings.
- Perform tax research as necessary regarding federal and state tax issues affecting the US Firms or their partners.
- Aid in the implementation of any federal or state or local tax-related legislation.
- Make recommendations on business and process improvements related to US Firms tax matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Taxation.
- Eligible for CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other relevant certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state partnership tax compliance, including partner-level income allocations, tax research, and tax planning.
- Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis.
- Tax forecasting / planning experience.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to travel 0-15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
