About the role
The Tax Senior Accountant role is part of the internal US Firms Tax (“USFT”) team within Deloitte Services LP. The USFT team is responsible for setting tax policy for Deloitte US Firms in the US and other countries, as well as domestic and foreign compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review targeted income calculations and other partner-level income allocations
- Review the allocation of state law adjustments
- Review the calculations of composite and withholding taxes
- Aid in the production and distribution of annual K-1 packages
- Onboard, manage, and retain staff
- Assist with transforming people, processes, and technology
- Prepare and distribute annual partner Forms K-1 packages
- Prepare allocations of items for 199A, 163(j), and Form K-3 reporting
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns
- Care for coordination on federal withholding information returns
- Prepare and track tax capital for the partners
- Manage the annual partner state tax elections process
- Assist with partner questions regarding federal or state or local tax matters
- Perform tax research as necessary regarding federal and state tax issues
- Aid in the implementation of any federal or state or local tax-related legislation
- Make recommendations on business and process improvements related to US Firms tax matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Taxation
- Eligible for CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other relevant certification
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm
- Strong knowledge of federal and state partnership tax compliance, including partner-level income allocations, tax research, and tax planning
- Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis
- Tax forecasting / planning experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to travel 0-15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
