About the Team

As part of the Financial Services Group, you’ll work with leading private equity, hedge, and alternative investment funds. The team provides comprehensive transaction, fund, and portfolio company audit, tax, and value creation solutions. Collaboration with other CohnReznick industry and service line teams ensures outstanding technical and client service. Responsibilities

  • Research tax issues and filing requirements affecting tax compliance.
  • Review tax returns (1065 & 1120) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Research complex tax issues using the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities.
  • Serve as Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, overseeing pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverable development.
  • Identify opportunities to expand current engagements by addressing client needs and target requirements.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and deliver timely evaluations.
  • Develop subordinates’ technical and industry skills, encouraging growth.
  • Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
  • CPA, JD, or EA preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Financial Services Industry experience required (Hedge Fund and/or Private Equity).
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong tax research and writing skills.
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Preferred competence with tax compliance and research software (GoSystems, CCH Axcess, CCH, RIAS).
  • Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position. Team members are expected to be in the office an average of 3 days a week, with the cadence of in-office presence determined at the team level. Most professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of the firm’s offices.

Pay

In New York, the salary range for a Tax Senior Manager is $145,000 to $245,000. Salary is one component of the total rewards package, which also includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, and inclusive parental benefits.
