Tax Senior Manager - Financial Services [Private Equity]

About the Team
As part of the Financial Services Group, you’ll work with some of the nation’s leading private equity and other alternative investment funds. You’ll gain valuable knowledge of the capital markets ecosystem and use it to deliver comprehensive transaction, fund, and portfolio company audit, tax, and value creation solutions. As a result of the unique organizational structure of most private investment funds, you’ll collaborate with other CohnReznick industry and service line team members to deliver outstanding technical and client service. Responsibilities
- Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance
- Review tax returns (1065 & 1120) and ensure accuracy and completeness
- Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities/guidance
- Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverable development
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements
- Provide regular performance feedback as well as deliver timely performance evaluations
- Develop subordinates' technical and industry skills and encourage growth
- Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s in Accounting/Taxation preferred
- CPA, JD, or EA preferred
- Minimum 6 years tax experience in a public accounting firm
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Financial Services Industry experience required (Private Equity)
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Strong tax research and writing skills
- Proven technical skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Preferred competence with tax compliance and research software (GoSystems, CCH Axcess, CCH, RIAS)
- Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
Schedule
This position is considered hybrid. Team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, professionals are encouraged to be in the office together in person on average 3 days a week.
Pay
In Massachusetts, the salary range for a Tax Senior Manager is $145,000 to $245,000. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which also includes a discretionary performance bonus.
