Responsibilities
- Manage tax compliance and tax advisory engagements in the Commercial Real Estate Industry group.
- Determine resource requirements and work with a team to ensure exceptional client service.
- Manage expectations with team members and monitor engagement progress.
- Review partnership and corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance.
- Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance.
- Draft tax technical memorandums and share knowledge to develop team members.
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements.
- Actively participate in proposal development, at the direction of management, and take a lead role responding to requests for proposal.
- Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking. Lead by example.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred.
- CPA, JD or EA required.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant tax experience within real estate industry.
- 4+ years of managerial experience.
- Strong tax research skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client service skills.
- Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including ProSystem, CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement.
- Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
