About the role
The opportunity involves advising on indirect tax regulatory changes and supporting compliance and reporting needs for both public and private entities. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities for tax optimization, managing indirect tax strategies, and implementing compliance processes.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization, credits, and refund recovery, as well as exposure reduction.
- Manage indirect tax strategies, compliance processes, remediation, controversies, and corrective filings.
- Support tax process reviews and technology transformation to enhance service offerings.
- Handle multi-state sales/use tax recovery projects for large, sophisticated organizations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts, and tools.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- An achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, the ability to sit for a state Bar, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, or CMI designation.
- A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
- The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
- Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.
