Tax Senior Associate [Commercial Tax Team]

About the role

CohnReznick is seeking a Tax Senior to join our Commercial Tax team in Houston. This position is hybrid, allowing team members to alternate time between remote and office settings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex business tax returns (Forms 1065, 1120S, 1120)
  • Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on business tax matters
  • Manage and train junior staff, providing guidance and quality review
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information and resolve issues
  • Maintain awareness of federal, state, and local tax law changes
  • Support the team with project management and prioritization
  • Must be proficient in using various department software platforms

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred
  • CPA, JD or EA preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Strong tax research and writing skills
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Certified in tax compliance and research software to include GoSystems, BNA portfolio and projection, CCH, RIA
  • Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Flow through experience preferred
