About the role

The Ohio Department of Taxation seeks to fill one (1) Tax Program Assistant Administrator position in the Personal Income and School District Tax Division. This role involves leading a team of supervisors and tax examiners, developing and executing policies, procedures, and projects, reviewing trends, collaborating with other departments, conducting training, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of supervisors and their tax examiners in executing the daily operations of the Income & School District Income Tax team.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Income & School District Income Tax team’s policies, procedures, programs, and long-term strategic goals.
  • Review trends in taxation and relevant data to recommend improved operational initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with other areas of Taxation and other state agencies to advance the mission, vision, and core values of the agency.
  • Conduct tax technical training for internal and external personnel.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate core program in accounting, business, public administration or related field which included 3 courses in accounting; 42 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing &/or taxation; 24 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 12 mos. exp. in customer service.
  • Or graduate core program in accounting, business, public administration or related field which included 3 courses in accounting; 30 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing, &/or taxation; 24 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 12 mos. exp. in customer service.
  • OR 18 mos. exp. as a Tax Examiner Manager, 66814.
  • OR 30 mos. exp. as a Tax Examiner Specialist, 66813.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Qualifications

  • Must provide own transportation unless state vehicle is provided.
