About the role
The National Federal Tax Services practice of Deloitte is seeking a tax professional with experience in federal tax consulting, client service, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Leading federal tax consulting engagements for corporate clients across a variety of industries and entity structures
- Managing day-to-day engagement delivery, including workplans, milestones, staffing, and billing
- Researching and analyzing tax laws, regulations, cases, and administrative guidance to develop client recommendations
- Reviewing client business information and tax return data to identify technical issues and planning opportunities
- Coaching and supervising tax professionals while providing performance feedback, career development support, and project guidance

Qualifications
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field
- 5+ years of experience in federal tax consulting
- Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
- One of the following active accreditations obtained: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA; Licensed attorney; Enrolled Agent; Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP); Charged Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Preferred: Advanced degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Law, including Master of Science in Taxation (MST), Master of Accounting (MAcc), Juris Doctor (JD), or Master of Laws (LLM)
- Experience leading federal tax consulting engagements for corporate clients
- Experience researching federal tax law, regulations, cases, and administrative guidance
- Experience managing engagement workflow, staffing, and billing
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Visio
- Experience in a Big Four or public accounting environment
