Tax Manager / Senior Reviewer

Alcala CPA PLLC is a growing small-business tax and accounting firm seeking an experienced, independent Tax Manager to oversee technical review and sign-off on client returns and workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Perform final technical review and sign-off on small business tax returns and workpapers prepared by staff accountants
• Serve as the go-to technical resource for staff questions, so preparers aren't waiting on the owner for answers
• Own quality control across the firm — catch errors and patterns before returns go out the door
• Provide feedback and mentorship to junior/mid-level preparers as trust and track record build
• Work independently — you'll be trusted to make the call and flag only what truly needs the owner's input

Requirements

• CPA required (or EA with strong, demonstrated small-business tax experience)
• Several years of hands-on review experience with small business tax returns and bookkeeping — not just individual returns
• Track record of working independently, with sound judgment and minimal oversight
• Prior experience at a firm of similar size (6–15 people) is a plus
• Comfort giving direct, constructive feedback to preparers

Pay

$75,000 - $80,000
