Tax Manager - Indirect Tax - VAT
About the role
The opportunity involves advising multinational clients on non-US indirect tax matters, specifically VAT, GST, and Consumption Tax. You'll bridge the gap between US tax department practices and foreign VAT knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of VAT principles and apply them to client situations
- Manage multiple projects and junior team members
- Research VAT legislation, case law, and guidance to support senior managers and partners
- Participate in and lead educational sessions on international VAT developments
- Translate technical skills into practical, solution-oriented advice for clients
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Tax, Law or a related field with 5+ years of progressive work experience in Tax
- A minimum of 4 years of VAT/indirect tax consulting experience or equivalent experience in business or government
- Detailed exposure to VAT taxation, country-specific or multi-jurisdictional VAT consulting and VAT compliance
- Excellent managerial, organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills
- 20 to 40% travel, of which 10% may be international, to serve client needs
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Tax, Law or a related field with 4+ years of work experience in Tax
- A proven record in a professional services environment
- The ability to adapt work style to work with both internal and client team members

Pay
Base salary range for this role in the US is $116,200 to $212,900, with a higher range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento).
