Tax Compliance
- Ensures clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Involves specialists where appropriate to resolve tax issues with clients.
- Communicates with clients and Assurance counterparts to manage tax accrual reviews.
- Budgets and staffs for tax processes, monitors engagement process, and manages time incurred.
- Timely bills clients and collects accounts receivable.
- Manages client relationships and expectations.
- Provides timely advice to clients.
Research
- Identifies when research is needed and clearly reports the analysis.
- Applies most Firm and professional standards for preparing WTA and tax returns.
- Applies ASC 740 and Firm policies regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48.
- Explains and discusses components of the income tax provision and uncertain tax positions to clients.
- Communicates with Assurance counterparts for timely tax accrual reviews.
Tax Consulting
- Aids in developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing taxes.
- Develops and implements a work plan for STS assistance on ongoing projects.
- Serves as a technical resource for client service teams.
- Ensures client service teams comply with Firm policies regarding WTA.
- Frames projects and issues for effective delegation to seniors and associates.
Tax Specialization
- Develops an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation.
- Organizes and conducts effective internal CPE training sessions in area of specialization, involving Firm specialists.
Strategy Development
- Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve client positions, the Firm, or Firm personnel.
- Reviews studies of tax implications and offers clients alternative courses of action.
- Identifies and leverages lessons learned on prior projects, offering input on improving processes and methods.
