About the role
The Tax Services Manager oversees preparation and review of complex tax returns, serves as the primary relationship manager for a client base, integrates tax strategy into holistic client financial plans, manages tax deadlines, and supports business development.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and review of complex tax returns including individual (1040), S-Corp (1120S), partnerships (1065), C-Corp (1120), estates and trusts
- Review returns prepared by Tax Associates and provide technical feedback and coaching
- Serve as primary relationship manager for assigned client base, delivering proactive tax planning and advisory services
- Collaborate with wealth management advisors to integrate tax strategy into holistic client financial plans
- Manage tax deadlines, workflow, and capacity planning across the team throughout the calendar year
- Conduct proactive mid-year and year-end tax planning sessions with clients
- Ensure quality control and technical accuracy across all client deliverables
- Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and communicate implications to clients and team members
- Support business development by identifying opportunities to expand tax and bookkeeping services within the existing client base
- Partner with leadership on process improvements, technology adoption, and department goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred
- PTIN required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive tax experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business returns in a client-facing environment
- Strong knowledge of high-net-worth tax strategies including deferred compensation, investment taxation, and entity structuring
- Proficiency in tax software such as CCH Axcess
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for clients
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively during peak periods
- Experience working within or alongside a wealth management or financial planning environment preferred
- Ability to work extended hours during tax season (January–April and other peak periods)

Pay
$130,000 - $150,000 plus 10% yearly discretionary bonus
Schedule
Monday-Friday (8am-5pm) with a hybrid schedule after successful training period
