About the role

The ideal candidate will lead the tax function for a construction company in Portland, OR. This role involves managing all aspects of tax compliance, preparing tax returns, and providing tax advice to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to senior management.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and government agencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with tax software and accounting systems.
