About the role
The Tax Manager specializing in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) group at Anchin will play a strategic leadership role in overseeing tax compliance, planning, and advisory services tailored to the AEC industry. This position will be responsible for managing complex tax engagements, developing innovative tax strategies, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for AEC clients on tax matters, providing strategic guidance and solutions.
- Lead client engagements, ensuring exceptional service delivery and fostering long-term relationships.
- Advise clients on tax planning opportunities, industry-specific incentives, and credits to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits.
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for AEC clients.
- Ensure compliance with complex, industry-specific tax regulations, including construction-related tax issues.
- Manage tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities, ensuring accurate documentation and successful resolution.
- Develop and implement advanced tax strategies aligned with client goals and industry trends.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the AEC industry, proactively advising clients on necessary adjustments.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in tax compliance and reporting.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to contribute to business development initiatives and expand the AEC tax practice.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive tax experience, with a strong focus on the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
- Proven track record of managing complex tax engagements and delivering strategic client solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and staff development.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation
