Job Description

As a Tax Manager, you will provide tax consulting, planning, and compliance services to a diverse client base within the real estate and construction industries. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate complex tax matters, identify planning opportunities, and achieve their business objectives. You will work closely with clients and engagement teams to deliver high-quality service while contributing to the growth and success of the practice. This position offers the opportunity to develop meaningful client relationships, lead multiple engagements, mentor team members, and play a key role in delivering strategic tax solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax consulting, planning, and compliance services to clients in the real estate and construction industries.
  • Perform tax research and analysis to address complex client issues and identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies tailored to clients' business objectives.
  • Manage and review tax calculations, returns, and related work products to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships through responsive and proactive service.
  • Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with engagement teams to identify, address, and resolve client challenges.
  • Anticipate client needs and provide strategic guidance on emerging tax issues and opportunities.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Contribute to practice growth through business development efforts and the expansion of existing client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation, LLM, or related advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting tax experience, with a focus on real estate and construction clients.
  • Experience with real estate partnership taxation strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships and leading tax engagements.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge, including tax research and planning.
  • Prominent ability to identify and resolve complex client issues while delivering practical solutions.
  • Experience developing and expanding client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and staff development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
