Tax Manager - Alternative Investment Funds
About the role
Managers in our Alternative Investment Funds practice oversee and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance for a variety of clients, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, fund of funds and venture capital.
Managers Can Expect To Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to market comprehensive tax strategies for prospective clients, etc.) Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, remain current on legislative changes, and lead change effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complex federal and state tax returns.
- Supervise, train, mentor and evaluate the performance of Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
- Engage in business development activities (prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to market comprehensive tax strategies for prospective clients, etc.).
- Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, remain current on legislative changes, and lead change effectively.
Requirements
- 4+ years relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 3 years of Alternative Fund experience;
- Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree; Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree (Preferred);
- Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (i.e. CPA or JD);
- Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
- Proficient use of technology.
