Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts in one of our new TurboTax locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs.

About the Role

In this role, you will work on-site from a TurboTax location as part of a collaborative team of financial experts, serving in-person and virtual customers who use Intuit TurboTax products. Your primary focus will be full-service tax return preparation, providing expert tax advice, calculations, and software support. You will act as the connective tissue between customers and a broader team of specialists covering business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, and advisory services.

This is not a hand-off model. You will sit in the same customer meetings, absorb the same context, and build a shared understanding of each customer's complete financial picture, then work in lock-step with the right experts to deliver a seamless, end-to-end Intuit experience. Your ability to understand each customer's unique situation and connect with them on a personal level is critical, whether helping with straightforward W-2 filings, navigating major life events, or tackling complex scenarios involving business income, investments, or amendments.

Additionally, you will play a key role in growing TurboTax’s client base within the local community by attracting new clients, establishing long-term relationships, and driving customer loyalty. You will leverage TurboTax marketing support and software to build a thriving business that fosters prosperity for both you and your community. This role is nonexempt and requires onsite presence at a TurboTax location in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on tax advice and complete preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments).
Facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax planning advice.
Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language.
Embody a “community ambassador” and “business owner” mindset to actively build and grow a new local customer base for TurboTax through targeted outreach, grass-roots marketing initiatives, referral networks, and community partnerships.
Serve as the local face of TurboTax, converting new prospects into loyal, long-term clients.
Organize and lead local events such as financial literacy workshops, community pop-ups, and networking gatherings with the support of TurboTax marketing tools and resources.
Act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and connecting them with Intuit solutions best positioned to meet their needs (e.g., bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma).
Build long-term trust by connecting with people, demonstrating understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns, and turning one-time transactions into loyal, multi-year relationships.
Deliver a best-in-class customer experience through professionalism and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations).
Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit’s state-of-the-art video communication tools, addressing inquiries and helping them overcome tax-related challenges.

Requirements

EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney with strong tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws (preferred).
Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) as required by law to file taxes.
Minimum of 3 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 tax returns per tax season using professional tax preparation software.
Familiarity with Circular 230.
Willingness to upskill into additional service types or more complex work areas (e.g., bookkeeping, payroll, business tax advisory) with training provided by Intuit.
Comfortable working onsite at a TurboTax office location, primarily between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Operating hours may scale up during peak demand, such as tax season.
Willing and able to complete all required training and development, including compliance training, proficiency-based upskilling, cross-training, and professional development.
Willing to wear Intuit-provided uniforms.
Willing to use your name and picture for advertising on Google.
Interest in building a local and online social presence as a TurboTax Expert, creating accessible tax-related content and resources for your community in accordance with Intuit’s policies.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus.
Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing.
Must reside within the United States.
Must possess or be able to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.

The expected base pay range for this position varies by location:

California (Bay Area): $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
Southern California: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
Colorado: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour
Hawaii: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
Illinois: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour
Maine: $23.50 - $35.00 per hour
Maryland: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour
Massachusetts: $29.50 - $34.47 per hour
Minnesota: $23.50 - $35.00 per hour
New Jersey: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
New York: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
Ohio: $23.50 - $35.00 per hour
Vermont: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour
Virginia: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour
Washington: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
Washington, DC: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour

This position is eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits in accordance with applicable plans and programs. Pay is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender to drive ongoing fair pay for employees.

Primarily between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Operating hours are subject to change and will likely scale up during periods of peak customer demand, such as tax season.
