Tax Expert - Expert Center (West)
About the Role
Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts in one of our new TurboTax locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs. As a TurboTax - Local Service Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor, empowering customers to achieve positive financial outcomes while supporting Intuit’s mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.”
In this role, you will work on-site from a TurboTax location as part of a collaborative team of financial experts, serving in-person and virtual customers who use Intuit TurboTax products. Your primary focus will be full-service tax return preparation, providing expert tax advice, calculations, and software support. You will act as the connective tissue between customers and a broader team of specialists covering business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, and advisory services. This is not a hand-off model; you will participate in customer meetings, absorb context, and build a shared understanding of each customer's complete financial picture, working in lock-step with experts to deliver a seamless, end-to-end Intuit experience.
Your ability to understand each customer's unique situation and connect with them on a personal level is critical. You will help with straightforward W-2 filings, navigate major life events (e.g., marriage, new child, elder care), and tackle complex scenarios involving business income, investments, or amendments. Additionally, you will play a key role in growing TurboTax’s client base within the local community by attracting new clients, establishing long-term relationships, and driving customer loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tax Expertise - Give hands-on tax advice and complete preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments). Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language.
- Be a Proactive Community Ambassador - Embody a “community ambassador” and “business owner” mindset to actively build and grow a new local customer base for TurboTax. Organize and lead local events such as financial literacy workshops, community pop-ups, and networking gatherings with the support of TurboTax marketing tools and resources.
- Champion the Full Intuit Ecosystem - Act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and connecting them with Intuit solutions best positioned to meet their needs. Introduce clients to complementary services such as bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma that address their needs beyond tax filing.
- Build Relationships - Connect with people, demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns, and build long-term trust that turns a one-time transaction into a loyal, multi-year relationship.
- Deliver a Best-in-Class Customer Experience - Create an exceptional customer experience through professionalism and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations). Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit’s state-of-the-art video communication tools. Address client inquiries and help them overcome tax-related challenges.
