About the role
The ASC 740 Experienced Senior Associate supports the preparation and review of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, applies U.S. GAAP and tax accounting foundational knowledge, and identifies and resolves complex tax issues. This role involves working closely with clients and team members, developing junior staff, and contributing to process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740
- Analyzes and documents uncertain tax positions and related disclosures
- Affixes to the preparation and review of tax footnotes for financial statements
- Collaborates with clients to gather necessary data and resolve provision-related questions
- Supports the implementation of process improvements and best practices within the ASC 740 function
- Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff
- Collaborates with audit teams to support the tax provision audit process
- Researches and interprets tax laws and regulations as they relate to ASC 740
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, or a related field with CPA certification
- Three (3) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience with a focus on ASC 740
- Prior basic supervisory experience
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("EA") (or the equivalent of one of these designations)
- Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with tax provision software such as OneSource Tax Provision

Qualifications

Pay
Range: $98,000 - $110,000 in Maryland, $102,000 - $119,000 in Massachusetts, $88,000 - $125,000 in New Jersey, $115,000 - $130,000 in NYC/Long Island/Westchester, $105,000 - $117,000 in Washington DC.
