About the role
The ASC 740 Experienced Senior Associate supports the preparation and review of income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740. This role involves analyzing and documenting uncertain tax positions, assisting with tax footnote preparation, collaborating with clients, implementing process improvements, providing technical guidance, and training junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740
- Analyzes and documents uncertain tax positions and related disclosures
- Affixes to the preparation and review of tax footnotes for financial statements
- Collaborates with clients to gather necessary data and resolve provision-related questions
- Supports the implementation of process improvements and best practices within the ASC 740 function
- Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff
- Coordinates with audit teams to support the tax provision audit process
- Researches and interprets tax laws and regulations as they relate to ASC 740
Requirements
- Experience in the process of preparing and auditing ASC740 computations for both privately held and publicly traded clients
- Three (3) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience with a focus on ASC 740
- Prior basic supervisory experience
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("EA") (or the equivalent of one of these designations)
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role
- Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with tax provision software such as OneSource Tax Provision
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification, required
- Masters in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
