Tax Director - Trust & Estate | Remote
Position Summary
The Tax Director will provide technical leadership on complex trust and estate tax engagements, oversee client relationships, mentor staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex trust, estate, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Advise clients on trust and estate tax planning strategies.
- Oversee engagements involving large volumes of Schedule K-1s from pass-through entities.
- Interpret and apply multi-state trust taxation rules.
- Build and maintain relationships with attorneys, wealth advisors, and fiduciaries.
- Mentor managers, seniors, and staff while ensuring high-quality client service.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and contribute to business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- CPA required (EA considered for exceptional candidates).
- 7+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on Trust & Estate taxation.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing fiduciary returns and complex trust structures.
- Expertise handling trusts that receive significant volumes of Schedule K-1s (tens of thousands preferred).
- Experience with trusts operating across multiple states.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
Preferred Experience
- High-net-worth individual and family office clients.
- Multi-state fiduciary tax compliance and planning.
- Complex pass-through entity taxation.
- Experience mentoring teams and managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Up to $275K+ (commensurate with experience)
