Position Profile

Weaver is looking for talented tax leaders at the Director or Managing Director level to join our growing firm!

About the role

A Commercial Tax Director or Managing Director provides federal tax compliance and consulting services to large middle market and public companies.

Responsibilities

  • Provides federal tax compliance and consulting services to large middle market and public companies
  • Sells and executes engagements in a wide variety of industries, with a heavy focus in the fields of Manufacturing and Distribution, Technology, HealthCare, Professional Services, and/or Construction
  • Builds teams, manages, mentors, and develops staff
  • Develops the next generation of Weaver’s leaders
  • Attracts and services new clients (participation in proposal and business development activities)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA with 9+ years of experience in federal tax compliance, planning and consulting at a public accounting firm with a focus on consolidated corporations, multi-state businesses, private equity backed clients, large businesses and partnerships
  • Technical knowledge sufficient to sell and execute engagements in a wide variety of industries, with a heavy focus in the fields of Manufacturing and Distribution, Technology, HealthCare, Professional Services, and/or Construction
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
  • Proven ability to build teams, manage, mentor and develop staff
  • Strong relationship management and practice development skills
  • Passionate client service

Skills

The ideal candidate is a CPA with 9+ years of experience in federal tax compliance, planning and consulting at a public accounting firm with a focus on consolidated corporations, multi-state businesses, private equity backed clients, large businesses and partnerships.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000 in the California and Massachusetts Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
