Summary

The Tax Data Analytics Supervisor serves as the tax analytic specialist responsible for reconciling out‑of‑balance conditions for daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll completions within Workday, the OSV collection process, and taxes paid/filed on behalf of customers. The role ensures that resolution of out‑of‑balance items complies with payroll processing and tax regulations.

Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities

• Monitor overall activities of the pay function, including all payment activities, in collaboration with key stakeholders to drive quality improvement.
• Work with the Team Manager to identify the need for system improvements.
• Serve as the first point of customer and internal escalation regarding tax analytics.
• Provide directions, instructions, and/or training to the team.
• Assist the team with daily tasks and special projects as needed.
• Perform routine audits for tax‑balancing actions and reconciliation communication to ensure deadlines are met.
• Conduct daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation of payroll and taxes processed in all U.S. tax jurisdictions.
• Apply credits based on reconciliation of taxes remitted on behalf of the customer.
• Research and resolve tax out‑of‑balance issues in a timely manner.
• Investigate and validate the cause of out‑of‑balance promptly and accurately.
• Communicate with customers, document the cause of tax discrepancies, and provide steps required to resolve out‑of‑balance within Workday.
• Ensure appropriate actions comply with tax authority requirements.
• Analyze tax/payroll data at the employer and employee level to discover insights, suggest conclusions, and support decision‑making.
• Collect and analyze data, performing mathematical calculations to determine optimal solutions.
• Prepare and deliver quarterly/annual reconciliation reports to customers via the OSV tax portal.
• Explain reconciliation of funding to tax deposits, obtain approval for further collections or refunds after quarter‑end or annually through conference calls or case system.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1+ year payroll tax experience
• 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Flexibility to work overtime to meet customer needs
