About the role
The Tax Attorney-Tax Audit Department Manager will represent clients in IRS and state examinations, oversee team members, and manage caseloads.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in IRS and state examinations
- Develop and implement strategies to defend client positions
- Communicate with clients via various means
- Prioritize and manage caseloads
- Respond to client inquiries and requests
- Supervise and mentor staff
- Work with the audit team to ensure goals are met
- Evaluate processes and assist with strategic development
- Aid in recruiting and hiring for the audit department
- Conduct disciplinary meetings
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Oklahoma, or another state within the United States, at the time of application
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing tax representation
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising and mentoring staff
- A positive attitude and customer service mindset with a strong work ethic
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with great follow up
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the skill to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Capacity to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to convey confidence in regular client interactions
- Receives enjoyment from problem solving and working through issues with clients and team members
- Adaptable and a team player when priorities shift, or unexpected challenges arise
