Responsibilities

  • Team with colleagues to advise multinational enterprises on tax matters related to cross-border transactions and business decisions, such as optimizing global supply chains, accessing capital, and determining operational locations.
  • Provide tax structuring advice to asset management and corporate clients engaging in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and initial public offerings within cross-border contexts; support internal restructuring transactions.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax law through KPMG-provided training, materials, and independent study; advise clients on the impact of these changes and recommend strategies to mitigate risks or capitalize on opportunities.
  • Prepare international tax elements of tax provision calculations for clients’ financial statements and U.S. federal income tax returns.
  • Assist KPMG audit teams with financial statement audits, including evaluating tax implications from global operations and transactions.
  • Develop deliverables such as tax calculations, slide decks, memorandums, or client emails with guidance from engagement team members.
  • Build capabilities in key technologies that enhance client service delivery, including artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and other emerging tools.

Qualifications

  • Must have obtained or be pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university within the past 12 months.
  • Preferred: Degrees or areas of study in Accounting and Taxation.
  • Must be pursuing state-specific education requirements to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the principal place of business (the state where the office is located), with required academic credits completed prior to the start date.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
  • Interest and exposure to a broad range of U.S. international and domestic tax law provisions.
  • Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills; demonstrated ability to drive strategic outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional demeanor, collaborative leadership approach, and a demonstrated quality service mindset.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, Power BI, and MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to nearby work locations using personal transportation or public transit.
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future (KPMG will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visas, including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, or CPT).
