About the role
As a member of our CIM group, working specifically excise tax and renewable energy credits group (E/E) you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around two core concepts: your technical and quality expertise and delivering excellent client service.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tax planning and research, as it relates to the excise tax and renewable energy credits within the following areas:
- Federal excise tax (fuel, heavy vehicles, air transportation, manufacturers taxes, environmental taxes, etc.)
- Investment tax credit (ITC)
- Production tax credit (PTC)
- Carbon capture and sequestration credit
- Electric vehicles and refueling property credits
- Renewable fuel credits
- Assist in implementing multiple projects simultaneously, which include client interviews, computations, analysis, data gathering, and coordination of resources
- Assist with drafting opinion letters and writing other technical memoranda
- Develop an understanding of client's business
- Help drive the success of multiple R&D, or federal credits engagements
- Maintain competency through continuing education and obtaining additional professional certifications
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university
- Travel to assigned client locations is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work effectively on a team
- Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment
