Tax Associate - Controversy

Location: New York, NY – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Compensation: $260,000 – $365,000 annually.

This role will support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation
• Draft legal documents including briefs, motions, and contracts
• Manage complex cases from inception to resolution
• Cultivate strong client relationships and provide regular updates
• Collaborate with team members to develop innovative case strategies
• Engage in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal changes

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in tax controversy or related legal field
• Experience in multinational tax disputes, litigation, and cross-border transactions
• Background in law firms, large accounting firms, or government tax roles
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently and in team settings
