Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax workpapers and related filings to support the annual income tax filings for federal income tax purposes such as Forms 1065, 8858, 8865 and 5471.
- Review of tax documents and forms prepared by outside tax advisors.
- Manage data collection process with Lockton’s accounting and finance teams and identify and implement process improvements.
- Prepare other miscellaneous tax filings.
- Research relevant tax issues, present findings to team.
- Engage with projects related to management and operational financial statement reporting.
- Respond to federal, state and local tax audits and inquiries related to tax filings.
- Collaborate with team in tax planning strategies including preparation and filing of tax election forms.
- Take part in internal and external training and learning opportunities to further their professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and good knowledge of accounting principles with a Master of Taxation and CPA preferred.
- 2-3 full years of federal income tax reporting and compliance experience in a multi-national work environment dealing with accounting and general taxation matters, which may be in industry, public accounting, or similar surroundings.
- Preference for experience with flow-through entities such as S Corps and partnerships and US international tax forms (Forms 8858, 8865, 5471 etc).
- Excellent computer skills including experience with MS Office software and data collection tools, Advanced Excel skills a must; prior experience with ONESOURCE Dataflow a significant advantage.
- Experience with Microsoft Power tools is a plus.
