About the role
Join our Tax Advisory practice to work with clients on navigating dynamic tax policy challenges. You will deliver complex projects related to tax advisory, business transactions, and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead client engagements, serving as the day-to-day point of contact and guiding junior consultants through the project lifecycle.
- Develop project and people management skills while deep-diving into client problems and delivering ongoing thought partnership.
- Manage multiple engagements in a team environment, ensuring high-quality projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide indirect tax planning and consulting services, including sales and use tax planning, nexus determinations, and tax exposure analysis.
- Assist with sales tax software implementations, client sales and use tax accounting, and audit defense.
- Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and delivering quality, timely projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Taxation
- 5+ years of indirect tax experience, preferably with Big 4 or large CPA firms
- Excellent state tax research, writing, and communication skills
- Significant knowledge of tax software and technology, including Avalara and Vertex
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, exhibit urgency, and ensure quality and timely project completion
- Experience managing multiple engagements in a team environment
- A passion for developing client relationships and building new skills
- Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, dynamic work environment and identify and solve problems
- Passion for participating in internal and external company initiatives such as community service, training, recruiting, and firm events
- Ability and desire to travel as required based on client location
