Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Perform detailed income tax research and analysis to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand and address complex tax issues related to mortgage transactions.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to the organization.
  • Monitor and interpret current and upcoming tax legislation and advise management on its impact.
  • Conduct tax audits and handle tax disputes, liaising with tax authorities as needed.
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to support business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records and documents.
  • Assist in financial forecasting and budgeting processes from a tax perspective.
  • Provide training and guidance to other staff members on tax-related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in the mortgage industry.
  • Proficiency in income tax accounting and a solid understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex tax issues.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

Pay

$60,000 - $75,000 per year
