About the role
Altman Greenfield & Selvaggi (AGS) is a fast-growing, boutique Accounting Firm specializing in Business Management for entertainment clients, located in West Los Angeles, CA. We are currently seeking a Staff Tax Accountant for either of our Westwood, CA or Encino, CA offices. This position is a hybrid role: (2-3 days in office). For the first 6 months of employment, new hires are required to be in the office 4 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare federal, state, and local tax returns and extensions - individuals, corporate, partnerships, and trust returns
- Accurately prepare clean and easy-to-follow workpapers
- Review tax information and identify missing items
- Perform tax research
- Identify and communicate issues to seniors and Partners and help problem solve to find solutions
- Carry out business management task at the direction of your seniors or Partners
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant tax preparation experience; mid-sized CPA industry experience is preferred
- BS or Masters in Accounting
- Strong proficiency in tax laws- individual, corporate, partnerships, and trusts
- Motivated, self-starter
- Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to multi-task and prioritize
- Excelled client service skills
- Terrific communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to problem solve, thinking both creatively and logically
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess
- Able to work nights and weekends, as needed
Pay
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $80,000-$100,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
