About the role
A well-established public accounting firm is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to support its tax and accounting team during a busy period. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Tax Accountant who enjoys a blend of tax preparation, bookkeeping, and general accounting work in a collaborative professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently
- Input and organize client tax information and supporting documentation
- Perform tax-related data entry and maintain accurate records
- Aid with bookkeeping and general accounting functions
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
- Support financial record maintenance and accounting documentation
- Gather, organize, and review client information during tax season
- Work closely with senior staff to support tax return completion
- Aid with administrative accounting functions and special projects
- Manage multiple deadlines while ensuring a high level of accuracy
Requirements
- Accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation experience required
- Prior experience as a Tax Accountant, Bookkeeper, Staff Accountant, or similar role
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles
- Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work in an office environment and meet deadlines
- Accounting degree or related education preferred
- Experience with professional tax software is a plus
- Prior CPA firm experience is highly desirable
