About the role
The Cooper’s Hawk Tasting Room Attendant delivers an exceptional guest experience through efficient, friendly, team-based service and by educating guests on Cooper’s Hawk products and wines. They grow the Wine Club community by sharing program details and inviting guests to join.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with hospitality; engage and answer questions about food, wine, Wine Club, and facilities in a friendly, helpful manner.
- Maintain full knowledge of Cooper’s Hawk food, retail items, wines, Wines of the Month, and Wine Club events.
- Build relationships with guests and create memorable experiences.
- Educate guests on the Wine Club, its offerings, and rewards; invite participation to expand membership.
- Keep current on tasting room functions and retail products, including tasting procedures, pricing, and featured wines.
- Support Host and Service Assistant roles as needed.
- Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and legal guidelines.
- Assist with carryout and curbside delivery order transport.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to sell tasting room products.
- Stock wine and retail merchandise; maintain attractive displays per set standards.
- Ensure a safe, sanitary, organized, and stocked work area.
- Complete side work during non-busy hours.
- Handle cash and operate the POS system according to company standards.
- Follow departmental checklists and SOPs to prepare work areas for opening, mid-shift, and closing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must represent Cooper’s Hawk Values.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience in casual or upscale dining or retail sales preferred.
- Experience in a wine environment or equivalent preferred.
- Hospitality-focused with a passion for guest service, food, and wine.
- Thrives in a team-based environment.
- Comfortable actively educating guests on the Wine Club membership program and inviting them to join.
- POS system experience.
- Clear communication with guests, managers, and team members.
- Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to perform fast-paced mobility for up to 6 hours.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to perform essential functions to Cooper’s Hawk standards with reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays.
