Tank Welders

Tank Welders HMT is seeking experienced professionals to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to cut and join metals and other materials using appropriate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Keep equipment in good condition to ensure safety
• Prepare welding/cutting equipment according to required procedures
• Use measuring tools and clamps to align components
• Aid in fit-up and preparation of welding joints
• Efficiently produce high-quality welds
• Inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws
• Perform post-weld clean-up and strip fitting gear
• Communicate with field leadership about job site issues, safety, quality, and personal concerns
• Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders
• Comply with all HMT and client safety policies and procedures
• Travel 75%+ of the time
• Maintain reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Welder using Flux Core (FCAW) and Stick (SMAW)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Welding
• Ability to pass 2G/3G/4G weld tests in Flux Core and Stick Welding
• Current or In Progress TWIC Card
• Solid experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures, including Flux Core and Stick
• Experience with cutting torch and arc gouging
• Proficiency in using electrical or manual tools like saws, squares, calipers, etc.
• Class B Welder certification
• Excellent knowledge of safety standards and willingness to wear protective clothing
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Agility, professionalism, and close attention to detail
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program
• Professional Certification, such as AWS welding certificate, is a plus
