Tank Technician Responsibilities
- Inspect, Service & Repair: Tanks and trailers to meet FHWA, FMCSA, DOT HM183, and hazmat standards.
- Pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, product pumps, and piping.
- Overfill systems (Scully, Civacon, Flotech, Titan Logix, Garnett).
- Air brake systems, valves, sensors, dome lids, shoes, drums, pads, and rotors.
- Low voltage wiring, harnesses, lights, batteries, and charging systems.
- Chassis, side-shells, caps, doors, retainers, fasteners, floors, and plates.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
- Troubleshoot electrical and lighting systems; perform sheet metal and paint work.
- Installation, Welding & Fabrication: Install add-on components (toolboxes, pumping systems, ladders, brackets).
- MIG/TIG welding, including in confined spaces.
- Fabricate hydraulic pump systems and perform wood/metal carpentry.
- Complete wreck repairs and custom fabrication.
- Obtain company weld test certification.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on or around tank vehicles or pressure vessels.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California).
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tank and semi-trailer equipment.
- Ability to operate hand, power, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment safely.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow service guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of tank vehicle service experience.
- Registered Tank Inspector certification.
- Additional certifications such as Tank, ASE, or welding.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
