Tank Mechanic

Role Overview

Work on ISO Tank Containers by pressure testing tanks, draining and drying the interior, and repairing or replacing tank container valves, gaskets, and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Pressure test, repair, and replace valves, gaskets, and gauges.
• Drain tanks and ensure they are dry.
• Operate hoists, cranes, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices to diagnose mechanical issues.
• Repair and replace defective parts; inspect and adjust used parts.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Operate lathe, drill press, and grinders.
• Use hand tools and power tools.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented.
• Ability to wear a respirator and be comfortable working at heights on top of tanks.
• Willingness to work in enclosed spaces inside tanks.
