Tank Farm Worker
About the role
Provide efficient operation of the tank farm facilities, including shipping and receiving of bulk chemicals. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations. Maintain and inspect tank farm equipment and facilities, warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Shipping and receiving of bulk chemicals in the tank farm; provide services for prompt and accurate filling, packing, and shipping of tank farm customer orders.
- Ensure compliance with all State and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations on merchandise shipped from the warehouse.
- Inspect and check tank farm equipment and facilities to ensure good operating condition.
- Maintain and protect warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.
- Conduct monthly inspections of the plant fire control system.
- Maintain warehouse stocks after receipt and ensure aisles and warehouse floor are cleaned and cleared of merchandise.
- Prepare a monthly list of all empty containers, un-repairable pallets, distressed stock, and miscellaneous non-usable materials and submit to the Warehouse Manager.
- Exchange workers with other warehouse sections as needed.
- Complete inspections and paperwork associated with hazardous waste generation and waste pickup transport.
- Report any problems with tank farm operation to the Warehouse or Operations Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with additional schooling or equivalent business experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience with the Company.
- Training in Contingency Plan (OTC-053) and Hazardous Waste (OTC-239).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Office and plant environment.
- Ability to respond to emergency response situations.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and direct Emergency Response Teams.
- Ability to operate all warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work varying and extended hours.
