Position Overview
The Cleaning Technician is responsible for providing essential support to equipment operators and the lead hand in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of industrial cleaning equipment. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks, including equipment preparation, maintenance assistance, operating process piping and fittings, load securement, rigging, and general support to maintain a smooth workflow.
Essential Functions
- Effectively communicate with team members, and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the team to address and resolve operational challenges and technical issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clean and as free certifications, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Uphold and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that safety protocols and guidelines are rigorously adhered to by all team members.
- Operate and maintain various industrial cleaning equipment, including pumps, diesel engines, and thermal fluid heaters.
- Provide general support and assistance as needed to equipment operators and the lead hand to maintain operational efficiency
- Filling a holding tank with water
- Monitoring the pumping system
- Moving cleaning device from 1 railcar to another (less than 50lbs)
- Entering confined space to spot clean railcar
- Complete basic equipment and tool maintenance, including basic repairs.
- Ensure secure load handling for the safe transportation of equipment.
- Adhere to stringent safety protocols and guidelines.
- Operate equipment efficiently to meet project requirements.
- Other Duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of pumps, diesel engines, thermal fluid heaters, knuckle boom cranes, and heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in secure load handling for transportation.
- Compliance with Electronic Logbooks.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work in various environments and weather conditions.
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning equipment operation is advantageous.
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to enter and perform work in confined spaces with an entry point of at least 18 inches in diameter, in compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations
- Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing positions
- Must be able to wear a respirator (clean shave)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground surface
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
- Must be able to pass company physical exam and drug screening
Working Conditions
Work environments include indoor facility settings and outdoor locations exposed to all weather conditions. Candidates should anticipate potential exposure to noise, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures.
