Tamashek, CAT III Linguist with Security Clearance

About the role

The Tamashek Linguist, CAT III position at WorldWide Language Resources supports U.S. and allied government missions globally. Key responsibilities include conducting DOCEX, verbal translation, audio translation, and training/sustaining operations. This role requires adaptability, quick thinking, and proficiency in Tamashek and English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct consecutive, accurate translations and interpretations of on-going conversations and activities.
• Provide language or dialect specific translations using correct sentence structure in both languages.
• Be available to work any hours and days depending on mission requirements.
• Deploy and work in living conditions that may be in extreme, austere or harsh conditions.
• Pass relevant evaluations including read/write/listen/speak tests for Tamashek and maintain a U.S. citizen, active TS/SCI level personnel security clearance.
• Pass appropriate country clearance/visa requirements for deployment.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Active TS/SCI level personnel security clearance.
• Proficiency in Tamashek and English.
• Ability to conduct translations and interpretations accurately.
• Adaptability to changing mission requirements.
• Physical fitness to perform duties in austere conditions.

Qualifications

• Excellent typing and computer skills.
• Basic understanding of Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of local customs and cultures.
• Ability to work under high-pressure and stressful conditions.
