About the role
The Talent Specialist supports the activation and continuation of specific Talent programs and processes that positively impact the Patelco team member experience. This role collaborates with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and people managers across the credit union to improve operating efficiencies across the talent lifecycle. The Talent Specialist role is an effective training ground for those that wish to flex into a Recruiting role or go deeper into HR or Talent programs and projects.
Responsibilities
- Executes tasks required to develop and execute talent programs.
- Assists with Employee Relations investigations and case management.
- Assists in supporting and/or sourcing for Retail and Corporate roles at Patelco.
- Assists with Pre-Onboarding new hires, including background checks, verification of employment, and interaction with new hires.
- iCIMS (ATS) Admin responsible for maintenance & support.
- Responsible for weekly reports on hiring and monthly Talent dashboards.
- Accurately completes I-9 forms for new hires, reviews employee-provided documentation, and conducts periodic re-verification of I-9 forms for employees with expiring work authorization.
- Partners with internal immigration SME as needed.
- Partners with Talent Manager, Director & HR Business Partner on larger projects and organization changes.
- Researches industry trends and provides recommendations to ensure the company is using best practices.
- Partners with HR risk and compliance teams to ensure consistency in HR policies and talent initiatives.
- Fulfills administrative duties, including filing, organizing, auditing, and data entry.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on HR or related field or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in human resources.
- 1+ year of full cycle recruiting experience.
- Knowledge of California and Federal employment-related laws and regulations.
- Experience working with HRIS, iCIMS ATS, and talent management systems.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to effectively and confidentially handle and maintain Personal Identifying Information (PII).
- Excellent communication skills, initiative, judgment, and discretion.
Pay
Target base pay: $28.24 - $33.21 per hour.
