About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative Talent Sourcer / Talent Attraction Specialist to drive sourcing initiatives that support our evolving workforce needs. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the local HR team, global talent and recruiting functions, and select business leaders to align hiring strategies with organizational goals. You’ll play a key role in shaping how we attract, engage, and retain top talent across our U.S. Utilities businesses.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and budgets to meet AES’ workforce needs.
- Own proactive talent discovery (market-level talent intelligence) and talent pipeline development, while recruiters manage requisition workflows, candidate selection, and offers.
- Provide market intelligence to support agile and informed hiring decisions.
- Conduct initial screening of candidates to assess qualifications and fit for respective pipelines.
- Build and maintain robust candidate pipelines through external partnerships and networks.
- Manage candidate relationships to keep them engaged and interested in future opportunities.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (HR Business Partners, hiring managers) to understand business requirements, identify targeted sourcing partnerships, and enable market insights.
- Leverage tools and platforms such as Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiting, Handshake, and Workday Recruiting.
- Establish strategic alliances (universities, industry/trade associations, community partners, affinity groups) to expand employer brand awareness and broaden the talent pool.
- Lead university fair coordination and participate in on-campus activities.
- Collaborate with workforce planning and HRBPs to anticipate hiring needs and develop proactive strategies.
- Implement localized sourcing strategies to strengthen regional pipelines.
- Create and support training initiatives to enhance hiring manager effectiveness.
- Oversee college recruiting programs, including recent graduates, internships, and entry-level rotational programs.
- Demonstrate strong technical recruiting skills, including advanced direct sourcing via LinkedIn and similar platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition and sourcing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies while building cross-functional relationships.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented, and action-driven mindset.
- Relationship-focused with strong networking abilities.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn about internal talent processes and competitive market challenges.
- Ideal candidates have strong sourcing connections in the Indianapolis, IN, and Dayton, OH, areas.
- Experience leading early-career, university, or rotational talent programs with measurable conversion and retention results.
- Demonstrated use of talent analytics and dashboards to inform recruiting and sourcing strategies.
- Experience collaborating with global or shared services teams to align sourcing and talent acquisition strategies.
