The Role
Elevate short-form content to its fullest potential by reviewing and providing specific, tactical feedback on every video before it goes live.
What You'll Own
Review ~40 short-form videos/month in Frame.io with timestamped, specific feedback on hooks, pacing, storytelling, text placement, audio, and scroll-stop moments.
Manage your review queue within two-week sprint cycles, ensuring every video gets 1-2 revision rounds before publish.
Track content performance across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts and translate data into actionable recommendations.
Surface 2-3 new format or content ideas per month based on what's trending in short-form across platforms (not just faith content).
Collaborate directly with editors and Devin via Discord and ClickUp to keep feedback loops tight and deadlines hit.
Have direct access to platform analytics and a seat in monthly content strategy sessions so your feedback is always data-informed.
Who You Are
You care about the mission. You understand that a well-edited 30-second video isn't just content. It might be the reason someone opens a Bible for the first time.
You think in retention curves, not vibes. When you watch a video, you instinctively clock why the hook works (or doesn't), where attention drops, and what would fix it.
You're obsessed with short-form content across platforms, not just faith content. You study what's working everywhere and reverse-engineer why.
You manage yourself. You don't need someone checking your queue. You track your own deadlines, flag problems early, and keep things moving without being asked.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
Objective 1: Own the Review Process
Complete your first full sprint cycle (20 video reviews with revisions) within first 14 days
Hit 100% on-time review completion across all sprint cycles by Day 30
Establish a personal review workflow and feedback template, reviewed and approved by Devin, by Day 21Objective 2: Make the Content Better
Baseline our average view count in Week 1. Target a 15% increase in average views per video by Day 90.
At least 3 videos where your feedback demonstrably changed the final edit outperform our 30-day rolling average by 25%+Objective 3: Start Thinking Ahead
Deliver at least 2 new format or content ideas per month starting Month 2, with a brief explanation of why you think they'll work and examples from other creators
Identify and document COTH's top 5 highest-performing short-form content patterns (hooks, formats, topics) by Day 45
This Role Is NOT For You
If you give vague feedback. "Make it more engaging" is not a note. "The hook needs to create an open loop in the first 1.5 seconds. Try leading with the conflict instead of the setup" is a note.
If you've never reviewed content for a creator or brand where your feedback directly changed what got published.
If you consume short-form content casually but can't explain why a specific video went viral at a granular level (hook structure, retention curve, scroll-stop trigger, audio choice).
If you miss deadlines. Sprint cycles are non-negotiable. If you can't manage 40 reviews in two weeks consistently, this isn't the right fit.
If you need to be managed closely. You'll get direction from Devin, but day-to-day you need to own your queue and flag problems before anyone asks.
If your background is primarily in written content, social media management, or graphic design, not video-specific review. Adjacent experience does not qualify.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
3+ years in content strategy, content review, or editorial roles specifically for video at a creator, brand, or media company.
You've either grown your own video pages to a significant audience or worked for a major content creator/company where you directly contributed to measurable video growth.
You MUST provide proof. A portfolio, case study, or analytics screenshots showing specific content decisions you made and the results they drove. "I helped grow the channel" with no numbers will be immediately passed over.
Deep fluency in short-form video mechanics: hooks, retention, pacing, platform-specific algorithm behavior across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Experience giving direct, timestamped creative feedback to video editors with measurable results.
Proficiency with Frame.io (or similar review tools), ClickUp, and Discord.
Strong written communication. Your application is your first audition. If it contains typos, vague language, or reads like it was generated by AI with no personal voice, it will not advance.
How To Apply
Send your application with ALL of the following. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Resume
Proof of results. Portfolio, case studies, or analytics screenshots showing content decisions you made and the measurable impact they had. Before/after data, growth metrics, specific examples. No proof, no interview.
