Talent Middle School Girls Wrestling Head Coach

Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for the following Extra Duty position: Head Girls Wrestling Coach - Winter Season, Talent Middle School.

Reports to: Athletic Director / Building Administration

Job Goal

To help each participating athlete achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching around fundamental skills of wrestling for 6th-8th grade girls.
• Facilitate practices/meets on a timely, consistent basis.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, paperwork.
• Serve as a positive role model and ensure safety of all athletes.
• Supervise athletes in the gym, locker room, and on bus trips.

Qualifications

• Successful wrestling coaching experience
• Adheres to sports philosophy of Phoenix-Talent Schools
• Model high standards of behavior
• Meet/ability to meet coaching certification requirements: FA/CPR, Concussion Training, Anabolic Steroid, blood-borne pathogens, etc.
• Must have a flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches

Preference

• May be given to those candidates who hold a valid Oregon teaching license
• May be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English

Salary

As determined by negotiated extra duty salary schedule and current memorandums of understanding with the collective bargaining unit.
