Reports to the Director, Service Experts Career Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares for and delivers approved apprenticeship training and instructional programs, using instructor-led, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia training methods and formats.
  • Conducts assessments and module exams, through electronic testing systems, to verify students have a solid understanding of the training content.
  • Conducts and facilitates Performance Tests in a lab or jobsite environment to verify students can apply the knowledge gained through the classroom to situations they will encounter in the field.
  • Maintains their Craft Instructor certification status.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures.
  • Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensures student performance is properly reported and records are accurately maintained.
  • Assists in the distribution of Apprentice Tool Kits and PPE.
  • Maintains a safe and inclusive learning environment at all times.
  • Administers written and performance-based tests within the company and NCCER guidelines.
  • Ensures the security and maintenance of all student records complies with company policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a technical training program with Associate’s Degree or equivalent and/or completed Apprenticeship training program in the HVAC Trade.
  • Minimum ten (10) years Journey level field experience in HVAC.
  • Successful candidates must complete ICTP and become certified Craft Instructors.
  • Previous experience training technicians or installers is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and the ability to deliver effective training programs.
  • Advanced analytical, business acumen and critical thinking skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interpret educational needs and develop effective instructional solutions.
  • Proficient in productivity tools including: Zoom as well as Microsoft Office products, including: PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMs and Outlook.
  • Skilled in presenting ideas in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Project management and presentation skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a complex environment.
  • Remote/office from home.
  • Non-traditional hours: Because training occurs in the evening and/or on weekends.
  • 30% average travel.
  • Moderate physical activity, including: lifting to 60lbs and extended periods of walking and standing.
  • Work may be performed in a classroom setting, equipment lab, or jobsites.
  • Must have a strong desire to share knowledge and help others succeed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
