About the role

The Talent Development Specialist supports attorney development, morale, engagement, mentoring and diversity and inclusion initiatives firmwide. Reports to the Talent Development Senior Manager and partners with the Global Talent team to execute projects, including Mentoring@Dechert, exit interviews and related data, industry surveys, feedback initiatives, managing the Global Associates Committee, talent awards program and diversity and inclusion efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the exit interview process for associates, counsel and business service professionals, including maintaining the departure information database and quarterly reports to identify opportunities to improve retention and engagement.
  • Sets up and supports firmwide attorney satisfaction surveys, articles and other submissions.
  • Supports attorney mentoring programs, including maintaining related databases and helping design curriculum and relevant training.
  • Helps prepare and manage the upward review process.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding the firm’s policies and procedures relating to performance ratings, critical skills competencies and advancement.
  • Supports other projects and initiatives of the Talent Team to foster a supportive, high-performance culture.
  • Analyzes multiple sources of data to assist in the preparation and delivery of reports that identify trends and inform talent strategies, including performance review trends.
  • Works with the Global Associates Committee to prepare monthly meeting agendas.
  • Oversees firmwide peer-nominated Talent Awards program, recognizing individuals who champion diversity, innovation, and teaching.
  • Works on diversity and inclusion initiatives relating to performance and engagement.

Qualifications/KSA's

  • Bachelor’s Degree – required.
  • At least three years of professional development experience in a national or international law firm preferred.
  • Experience with Workday preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Pay

Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience and location of the position. Salary range for this position in New York is $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
