Talent Attraction Specialist
About the role
We’re looking for a creative, resourceful Talent Acquisition Specialist to help Welch’s find exceptional talent. You’ll support recruiting across Welch’s, with a particular focus on hourly hiring programs across our manufacturing plants, manager and supervisor-level plant positions, and select corporate roles.
Responsibilities
- Source and engage high-quality candidates for corporate positions and manufacturing leadership roles, including supervisors and managers.
- Build passive candidate pools to help us become more proactive when difficult-to-fill positions become available.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies using LinkedIn, social media, community partnerships, referrals, industry networks, events, and new channels we haven’t tried yet.
- Research talent markets and identify new ways to reach candidates with the skills and mindset Welch’s needs.
- Develop relationships with prospective candidates before we have an immediate opening.
- Maintain a high bar for candidate quality while balancing speed, responsiveness, and business needs.
- Own and grow our hourly recruiting programs across Welch’s manufacturing locations.
- Partner closely with plant teams to understand hiring needs, talent availability, workforce plans, and local labor market challenges.
- Develop consistent and scalable hourly recruiting processes that can be effectively executed across locations.
- Bring fresh ideas for community outreach, recruiting events, referral programs, workforce organizations, and local talent partnerships.
- Track hourly recruiting activity and outcomes to identify what is working, where candidates are dropping out of the process, and where improvements are needed.
- Create an efficient and engaging experience from application through interview and offer for plant teams.
- Create an Exceptional Candidate Experience by making every candidate interaction feel personal, responsive, and distinctly Welch’s.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with candidates throughout the recruiting process.
- Use Technology and Data to Recruit Smarter by becoming a power user of our recruiting systems and tools, using our ATS, sourcing platforms, AI tools, analytics, and emerging recruiting technology to work smarter and improve results.
- Experiment with new tools and technologies that can improve sourcing, candidate engagement, recruiter productivity, and the hiring experience.
- Help create recruiting processes that are scalable, measurable, and easy for hiring teams to follow.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in recruiting, sourcing, talent acquisition, staffing, or a related field. Experience supporting hourly, high-volume, manufacturing, or operational hiring is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Genuine curiosity about people, businesses, and what makes someone successful in a role. Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage candidates, hiring managers, and leaders. A growth mindset and willingness to learn through experimentation and feedback. Resourcefulness. When the obvious recruiting approach isn’t working, you find another one. Creativity and a desire to challenge traditional recruiting approaches. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple searches, locations, and priorities. Comfort learning technology and becoming highly proficient in recruiting systems and digital tools. An analytical mindset and interest in using data to improve recruiting decisions. A high bar for candidate quality. The initiative to see something that could be better and do something about it. The ability to work independently while building strong partnerships across the organization.
Qualifications
Location, Work Schedule, and Travel: This role is based in Waltham, Massachusetts, and follows a hybrid schedule, with employees expected to be in the office Monday through Wednesday and working remotely Thursday and Friday. The role also requires regular travel to Welch’s manufacturing locations. Travel will be more frequent during the first several months as you build relationships with plant leaders, learn the work, understand local labor markets, and establish clear recruiting processes and quality standards. As those relationships, expectations, pipelines, and recruiting rhythms become established, we expect the frequency of travel to decrease. The goal is not travel for travel’s sake. It is to build enough understanding, trust, and recruiting discipline that strong hiring outcomes can be sustained over time.
